Raise your hand if you remember Mary-Kate and Ashley Olsen from Full House. The twins themselves have grown into media powerhouses and style icons and that speaks volumes from their fans who have been following them for much longer. Both of their fashion lines, The Row (Ashley Olsen) and Elizabeth and James (Mary-Kate Olsen), have been so successful that the twins plan on taking another hit.

Enter Olsenboye. Olsenboye will be an economical line of casual sportswear and accessories for teenagers at JC Penney.

Olsenboye is named after the Olsens ancestral name and plans to bring sophistication and aspiration to their Juniors department while offering young customers new, fashion-forward merchandise at budget friendly prices. The brand will be targeting teen trends around the world, providing the Juniors customer with constant changes for fresh, fun-spirited, and edgy new looks.

Olsenboye will make it’s first debut in JC Penney on November 6th, with a full launch during the Spring of next year. Keep your eyes peeled!

 

Store Highlight: Debbie Brooks.

Debbie Brooks has been around for quite some time. She has created exclusive bags for the Tonys, Oscars, Elton John, Patty LeBelle, Iman, The Wynn Hotel, The Four Seasons, and the Avon Foundation to raise money for breast cancer. Celebrities from Sarah Jessica Parker, Gwyneth Paltrow, to Mariah Carey have been sighted with her handbags.

Debbie’s handbags add a unique touch that be might unlike anything you’re used to. For starters, Debbie’s designs feature pop art designs which gives most of her designs a sosphisticated and sassy appeal to them for a reasonable amount of money. You can see her collection at the Mall next month. The Debbie Brooks flagship store will open at King of Prussia Mall next month and hopes ot express the brands originality and creativity.

The Debbie Brooks store will be opening on October 1st next to Lord and Taylor inside of the mall.

 

Back to Campus Fab: Leggings.

So, the weather starts getting gorgeous when everyone goes back to school. Go figure. But, don’t let the humdum of homework and projects get you down. Back to school shopping can actually be an event to look forward to, because like the school year itself, you’re starting over fresh. The Fall arrivals are coming in at King of Prussia Mall and it’s a chance to incorporate some of latest trends and how to wear them with your wardrobe.

For my first post, we’re going to talk about a trend that has been sighted everywhere from celebrities to the mall.  I’m referring to leggings. Leggings have remained a staple in many girl’s wardrobe because of their versatility. They are easy to pull on and are perfect for layering which is why they look cute with many Autumn staples. Who doesn’t like to layer in Autumn?

As leggings have become so popular, they can range into various styles. Some of them are campus appropriate and some of them – not so much! Here’s a list on how to wear some of the popular legging styles.

Denim Leggings

Denim leggings can almost pass for traditional jeans.  They come in many different washes, from almost black to faded. Some of them are even embellished with buttons and pockets. As most styles still fit like leggings, they look best with tunics and longer shirts styled over them. Accessorize as you wish.  But, they will be a godsend when midterms and finals week rolls around as they are just as comfortable.

Accent Leggings

This silhouette can just be comfortable as regular leggings, but they are dolled up with zippers, studs, and sequins for a night out, perhaps?  Try pairing a pair with flats and a tunic.

Printed Leggings

Printed leggings make also tickle your fancy. It’s easy to find them with floral prints, animal prints, stripes, and plaid. When you wear printed leggings, however, keep the rest of your look simple to avoid the rest of the outfit from looking “busy.” A pair of the floral printed leggings above would look cute with a plain black flowy dress or a cropped black motorcycle jacket.

Colorful Leggings

You may notice that a lot of colored jeans are popping up in stores everywhere. The same can be said for colored leggings, which is a great way to try to the color fad for a significantly cheaper price than brightly colored jeans. Bright leggings are incredibly versatile. You can go for a 80’s vibe and pair them with oversize off the shoulder shirts, sweatshirts, or tunics. I personally think pairing them with the dress (as shown in the picture above) is an adorable idea that you can wear with a sundress into Autumn even!

Plus, even if you’re not too fond of wearing your brights outside, the cotton and spandex material that they are made of are just comfortable enough to lounge around in!

Get a cheap and chic summer wardrobe – Forever 21!

It would almost feel wrong to not give this store a personal shoutout when it comes to finding bargains. I often find myself rotating between Forever 21 and H&M in the mall, because I can almost walk out with bagfuls from either places with different pieces that are fun to mix and match with what I already have. The funny thing is, it first struck me as a tween store in the mall. But, it is not. The sales floor of Forever 21 is covered with a medley of girls ranging from tween to college age. I like Forever 21 because it’s the utmost in cheap and chic, for whatever your occasion.

Get a cute and chic summer wardrobe: American Eagle Outfitters

Spring/Summer shopping is one of my favorite times of the year. I love dressing up for everything, and that means stocking up on plenty of lightweight sundresses and skirts that are dressy and comfortable without being dressy and bulky. I’m going to show you some of my favorite finds at some popular stores at KOP for great prices.

American Eagle has been around since my high school days. I remembered collecting a total of fifteen shopping bags at the same time once, lol. American Eagle is like The Gap, but with more panache. The quality is also durable and lightweight and comfortable for those sticky, summer days and nights. And now with the release of Aerie, this brand has you covered from everyday wear to the gym.

I would consider their style aesthetic to be fashion forward, but not so fashion forward that you won’t look out of place either. They always seem to have some cute clothes out for the summer. And the prices are reasonable too. And even when you don’t think so at first glance, check them out again a few months later. You’re bound to strike gold with their treasure cove clearance racks!

Here are some of my favorite finds and what you can pair them with:

I noticed American Eagle has plenty of cute sundresses this season. I noticed one of the SAs was wearing this one as she greeted me when I walked into the store. And some of them are already selling like hotcakes, including this one. There aren’t many sizes left already, so you may have to check your store.

Try: I immediately fell in love with what the SA paired her sundress with. She wore a mint green 3/4 sleeve cardigan (I have the exact same one which is why I liked this outfit so much) and flip flops. Another pastel cardigan (in a color that matches the dress) would look just as pretty. Wear with a sandal or flip flops.

You can never pack enough soft, lightweight skirts for a summer concert or an early evening stroll on the beach. Don’t forget to pack this soft, lightweight cotton skirt up for the trip.
